In this supportive setting, we will utilize meditative mindfulness-based tools, which have been shown to help the mind and body in a variety of ways:
- Changes the balance and patterns of brain activity
- Increases relaxation, stress relief, and resiliency
- Calms the nervous system and counters the effects of stress hormones on the body and brain
- Cultivates non-judgmental, perceptive awareness
- Enhances senses of gratitude and compassion
- Strengthens neuroplasticity, concentration, and ability to shift attention
- Helps habituation, rumination, and pattern loops
- Assists with better thought, emotion, and information processing
- Regulates breathing and heart rate
